Novella is an Indonesian animation filmmaker and illustrator based in Valence, France, where she is currently pursuing the Author Director of Animated Film program at La Poudrière. Drawing from her upbringing across Southeast Asian cities, her films blend childlike wonder with magical realism, exploring feelings of displacement, belonging, and chaos.

Working mainly in 2D and mixed media, her visual language is marked by soft textures, vivid colors, and raw handcrafted shapes. She often experiments with different animation techniques to create emotionally resonant world that are dreamlike, melancholic, or simply playful.

Her short Tankboy (2021) won the Global Animation Award at Jakarta Film Week and screened at festivals such as DOKUFEST, Animocje, and Busan International Kids Film Festival. She has also worked as an art and animation director on shorts, series, and music videos, including projects selected at Annecy International Animation Festival and SXSW.

Novella is currently directing her first independent short animation,
